Mug #50 - Headless Dragon

In 2024 I made a batch of porcelain mugs with magical creatures transfers, painstakingly adding colour to the black and white transfers before glazing in clear, then colour, then White Cliffs Opal on the rim.

During the glaze firing there was a power outage as the kiln reached top temperature and the glazes ran a little more than I had planned for. Not enough to ruin the mugs, but enough to obscure the heads of all the magical creatures.

Headless Mermaid was quickly adopted by my sister. Headless Fairy was bought by an old friend from TAFE. Headless Unicorn sold from my discount basket at a market. Leaving poor old Headless Dragon kicking around without a job to do.

This is an otherwise flawless mug, sturdy and good-sized. Priced to sell.
