Mug #53 - Crawled Chicken

Buff stoneware mug with Blue Sunset glaze combo, white liner and chicken transfer. Holds 350ml.

This mug is from the same batch as the Drippy Dog and another victim of the too-thick blue glaze. In this instance it crawled on the rim, leaving an unglazed patch near the handle. Usually I would fix this by putting a bit more glaze on the bare patch and firing it again, but the nice thick drips near the handle would run badly on a second firing and make a big mess. So here it is on the Seconds list.

This is otherwise a nice mug and completely functional, with the ever-popular chicken design..
